Hello again;
After browsing the board some more, I'm not *quite* as concerned
with the amount of oil my Savage is leaking around the head (I think
the best description I read was "oil leaks are genetic" and "it's
marking it's territory"). Anyway, the gist of the messages seem to
be that the bolts need to be retightened. Any particular advice to
follow on this, or just read & re-read my Clymer manual? Anyone
have any pitfalls they'd like to enlighten me on before I try this?
And if I do just decide to pay a dealer/mechanic to look into it
(i.e. tighten the head bolts, etc), what price range am I looking at?
It's not that I'm a complete mechanical imbecile, but I do get into
that time/money tradeoff (school, work, and all that, not to mention
wife & kids).
